THE STORY OF A LEASH & A DOG
How We Got Started
As a teenager I volunteered at the humane society and began dog sitting for family and friends .
We put each pets safety and well being first and are one of the few facilities in the area that is a detached home with yard and multiple parks right across the street . My mum and I began this adventure in 2016 when we started taking care of dachshunds but it later developed to all dogs and cats.We strive to create a fun interactive environment planning activities that both entertain and stimulate the mind of your furry companion .
I continue the Business alone in loving memory of my beloved mother Karen Stanley. Words cannot describe how much she is loved and missed.

SERVICES
Put Your Pets First
BOARDING
Your pet’s happiness is our number one priority. During this service, we learn what they like and dislike and always treat them with kindness and patience. Whether your dog needs a crate ,prefers to sleep with a human , in a dog bed or even on their own sofa we’ve got you covered !
All boarding includes walks , play and potty breaks at least every 2 hours. Prices start at 50.00 a night .
DOG WALKING
Rain or shine dog prefers to walk and play with others or needs one on one attention , we’ve got you covered . Servicing the High Park, Junction, Bloor west village area and anywhere in between. We ensure that your furry loved one is always safe using gps tracking technology. Each walk is mapped out and we provide you with regular photo and video updates of your fur baby’s adventures .
30 minute walks start at 16.00
60 minute walks are 20.00
5 or more walks a week are 18.00 per hour
Private walks start at 25.00 for 30 minutes
2 hour off leash excursions in Highpark are 25.00

PUPPY VISITS
Puppy visits can be an integral part of your new dogs care . If you are a busy pet parent but still need to ensure your new family member Is fed, socialized , and engages in play , we’ve got you covered . These visits can be scheduled for once , twice Or even three times a day . Prices start at 19.00 for half an hour and 22.00 for an hour long visit . Daily visits are just 80.00 a week.
HOLIDAYS AND CELEBRATIONS
At A Leash & A Dog we know how important celebrating holidays and birthdays with your pet can be but you aren’t always there to do so yourself . As a complimentary service we provide , presents decorations , and lots of photos videos all tailored to your personal preference and can even do video chats so you can be part of your Pets celebration even if you aren’t there in person .

As a fellow dog owner and dog caregiver I know how difficult it can be to find the perfect sitter especially as my dog Noodle can suffer from separation anxiety .Fortunately  I found an absolute angel in Alicia she was so welcoming and noodle warmed to her immediately . Alicia is attentive to your pets needs and asked all the right questions . By sending me pictures of Noodle looking so relaxed also quelled my own anxiety . I would have no hesitation in recommending Alicia and have already booked Noodle for a longer stay !

If ever you were looking for one here is a glowing review! I've used dog sitters a few times, the first was a disaster of epic proportion's, the second was decent, my dog was taken care of and seemed rest it but it never seemed like he had a blast… But Alicia?! All the other reviews are not exaggerating, Charlie was smiling ear to ear when I picked him up, then came home and napped off the adventures with a big old grin on. What a sweet soul Alicia is . Kept me up dated and is just so dedicated to every dog she is taking care of . Was so in tuned to both of my dogs (especially Frankie who is a bit of a hard nut to crack ). Alicia will be my forever dog walker boarder ect .

We booked Alicia (A Leash & A Dog) for a 2.5 week stay after our regular sitters got a dog of their own . Our dog has severe socialization issues so we drastically need to avoid situations in which she is close to another dog . We were nervous because 2.5 weeks is no small amount of time ! We needed to find the right person and trust them . Alicia was that person . We met with her about a month before we went to Italy and Alicia was responsive to our  questions and concerns . While we were in Italy we received daily updates in the form of photos or videos via what’s app and Alicia was responsive when we had any questions . Zoe is not the easiest dog to take care of with her funny quirks so when Alicia said she really enjoyed Zoe’s company and would love to spend time with Zoe again we felt extremely lucky to have found her as she  was understanding loving open and engaging with Zoe. Taking our dog on long walks in local parks and ensuring that she was entertained tired out and well cared for . In summary we are so grateful to Alicia for her kindness patience and hospitality . Knowing that Zoe was Safe and well while we were across the ocean was priceless . Thank you Alicia if we ever need a sitter again you will be our first choice .

Alicia watches our 7 month old puppy Cali every time we go away and has been the first dog sitter we have used since being apart from Cali. After meeting Alicia the first time we immediately felt comforted that Cali was in good hands. Throughout her stay, Alicia always keeps us updated with photos and videos so we never felt the need to bug her for updates. She took Cali on so many adventures, you could tell she was having so much fun. We also loved the idea of Cali being in a home rather than a kennel and Alicia was so accommodating by providing a crate and even letting Cali on her couch! We will continue to use Alicia when we need dog sitting services.

We were very happy with Alicia's care of our almost 2-year-old pup our dog has a lot of energy is anxious and can't seem to relax when in a new environment he had just spent two full days confined in our car driving up from the USA to Toronto I felt terrible that just as our drive finished he couldn't get out and run and play we had to leave him but what can we do? We had tickets for the Toronto FC game game which he couldn't and wouldn't want to attend and already 15 minutes late. Thank goodness for Alicia. Alicia has a very calm love loving soothing presents and greeted us kindly. Her home is located in a pretty tree line neighbourhood and she has family nearby. She took our pump under her wing and gave him a nice walk passing squirrels, flowers, Grass, leaves, trees, fresh air and the good smells to go along with the exercise exactly what he needed. He got to play at her aunts home with their pup. We appreciated that she took such good care of him and thankful that she was flexible him regarding drop off and pick up time. We like to travel with her dog and we will happily use her again when we are in the area visiting. we recommend her 100%. Thank-you so Much!

We are so glad to have Alicia as our sitter. Our six-year-old Chihuahua came to us from the Humane Society after being transferred from the US so she gets quite nervous and unfamiliar surroundings. Alicia is extremely sensitive and intuitive and catering to our dogs needs. She always comes home happy and well which means the world to me.
